- Plesk for Linux
How to unpack the content of a Plesk backup created in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.40 and later versions?
Starting from Plesk Obsidian 18.0.40, Gzip was replaced with ZSTD as a default compression method to improve performance for backup and restore operations.
If a backup was created in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.40, it can be unpacked as follows:
Connect to the Plesk server via SSH.
Create a directory where the backup is going to be extracted:
# mkdir /root/backup
--use-compress-program pzstdoption to unpack the archive:
# tar -xvf /var/lib/psa/dumps/domains/example.com/backup_logs_2111250004_2111290004.tzst -C /root/backup/ --use-compress-program pzstd
