Question
After migration, when DNS is still pointing globally to the old server, if it is required to check the content of the mailbox how to access it via webmail interface?
Answer
Workaround 1
Add new server IP and webmail host name into the hosts file located on your workstation.
- For Windows into:
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hostsCONFIG_TEXT: 192.0.2.2 webmail.example.com
- For MacOS into:
/private/etc/hostsCONFIG_TEXT: 192.0.2.2 webmail.example.com
Workaround 2
If there is any domain with webmail that resolves to the new server, access it and specify login credentials for the mailbox you wish to access.
