- Plesk for Windows
Plesk is the DNS master for the zone example.com.
When issuing a wildcard certificate in Domains > example.com > Let's Encrypt, the necessary TXT record is not added automatically in the DNS zone for the domain and Plesk asks to do it manually:
Bind is used as DNS server.
Note: This can be checked in Tools & Settings > Server Components.
#EXTLETSENC-813 "In Plesk for Windows with Bind, wildcard challenge DNS records are now added automatically to the DNS zone of a domain that you try to secure with a wildcard certificate."
- Let’s Encrypt 2.10.0 28 May 2020
Three possible workarounds are available:
Go to Domains > example.com > Let's Encrypt and issue a certificate for the required domain and subdomains without the wildcard option.
Note: Do the same for all subdomains required to be secured.
Go to Domains > example.com > DNS Settings and add the TXT record for _acme-challenge.example.com mentioned in the message.
Go to Domains > example.com > Let's Encrypt and click on Continue
Note: In such case, the certificate won't be renewed automatically.
