- Unable to setup the Amazon S3 Backup extension with a new AWS account at Plesk > Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Remote Storage Settings > Amazon S3 Backup. The following error is shown:
PLESK_ERROR: BucketAlreadyOwnedByYou (client): Your previous request to create the named bucket succeeded and you already own it.
The Amazon S3 Bucket was created in the EU (Paris) region.
The new AWS account was created and granted proper permissions as per documentation: Amazon S3 Backup Storage
Amazon S3 Backup extension bug #EXTPLESK-1538, which will be fixed in future updates.
Proceed with either workaround below:
- Log into Plesk;
- Go to Extensions > My Extensions > Amazon S3 Backup and remove it;
- At Extensions, search for Amazon S3 Backup and reinstall it;
- Go to Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Remote Storage Settings > Amazon S3 Backup and configure it with the same S3 bucket path and user as used previously when the error occurred.
