- Plesk for Windows
There are two MySQL databases with the same name on the source and the destination servers. Migration fails with the following error message:
PLESK_INFO: Unable to create database 'wordpress_1' in subscription 'example.com': Command LANG=en_US.UTF-8 ALLOW_WEAK_PASSWORDS=1 PLESK_RESTORE_MODE=1 database --create wordpress_1 -domain example.com -skip-webspace-checking -type mysql -server 203.0.113.2:3306 -ignore-nonexistent-options failed with exit code 2:
stderr: Database with requested name already exists.
How to workaround it?
Note: If this is a CMS-based website (WordPress, Joomla!, Drupal, etc), be sure to change the database and user names in the CMS configuration file after applying the changes below.
Rename the database either on the source or the destination server according to the Method 2 from the KB article:
If MySQL user names of these databases are identical too, rename one of these MySQL users in Plesk at Domains > example.com > Databases > User Management > username.
