Question
Why only one backup file is shown in Dropbox directory while there are multiple Dropbox backups in Plesk interface?
Answer
When Dropbox backend is used for the cloud backups, it keeps overwriting the same file server.servername.example.com.tar
in Dropbox directory, instead of creating new files.
This behavior is by design: all additional backups are stored in the Dropbox revisions. These revisions can be found in Dropbox > backup_location > server.servername.example.com.tar > ⋯ > Version history:
On restoration Plesk Backup Manager will automatically select the correct revision from the list, download and extract it.

Why is there no option to disable this? Its an extremely messy way to do backups
Brendan Tully Hello, could you please provide specific details and use-cases on why current behavior is not optimal for you?
To do a restore its a mess of going through dropbox revisions - doesnt really invoke much confidence!
Thank you for the feedback Brendan Tully I will pass it to our development team. To simplify restoration it is better to perform a task from Plesk interface itself: if you're restoring data on a new server connect Dropbox with new Plesk and you will see available dates under Backup Manager.
Ah ok so plesk will figure out the revisions thing itself?
