Scheduled backups on Plesk for Windows are not being performed correctly on a random basis
Plesk version is Onyx 17.5
Dropbox backup extension is present on server and setup with scheduled backups
The scheduled task for the backups are finishing correctly on Plesk server side as per event viewer logs
No emails are being sent as no errors are being registered to trigger the notification messages
- No errors are registered on Plesk server logs
Following information about the creation of the backup files and later deletion order on random backup files from the Plesk server IP, can be seen in the transfer logs from the FTP server:

Errors only occur through scheduled backups. Manually launched backups finish correctly.
Bug in the product with ID PPPM-8789 that will be fixed in upcoming Plesk updates.
As a workaround, either apply the fix attached to this article or upgrade Plesk up to Onyx 17.8 can be done.
To apply the fix attached to this article the following can be performed:
- Connect to the server via RDP
- Download the fix file: cuPleskBackup-PP-17.5.zip
- Extract the file to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Plesk\admin\plib\backup folder
