The following message is shown in the
CONFIG_TEXT: # Your system has configured 'manage_etc_hosts' as True.
# As a result, if you wish for changes to this file to persist
# then you will need to either
# a.) make changes to the master file in /etc/cloud/templates/hosts.tmpl
# b.) change or remove the value of 'manage_etc_hosts' in
# /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg or cloud-config from user-data
/etc/hostsfile gets overwritten after a server reboot. In some cases, this may cause Apache failure. After adding a hostname and IP address to the
/etc/hostsfile, Apache successfully starts.
1.1. Open the
/etc/cloud/cloud.cfgfile in a text editor. In this example, we are using the vi editor:
# vi /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg
CONFIG_TEXT: manage_etc_hosts: false
1.3. Save the changes and close the file.
Make sure that there are no subfiles inside the
/etc/cloud/cloud.cfg.dwith this command:
# grep -ir manage_etc_hosts /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg.d/
