- Plesk for Linux
Is it possible to install Plesk on Ubuntu 18.04?
Plesk now supports Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) on Plesk Onyx 17.8 only.
However, keep in mind the following limitations:
Atomicorp does not support Ubuntu 18.04 yet. So, Atomic rule sets (both basic and advanced) cannot be enabled in ModSecurity on a Plesk server with Ubuntu 18.04.
Although Ubuntu supports dist-upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04, it is still under testing with Plesk and it is not supported by Plesk even under testing Plesk Onyx 17.9 tear. Support of dist-upgrade is expected soon in future product updates.
Currently, Docker does not support Ubuntu 18.04 and neither does the Docker extension. We recommend that you do not install the Docker extension on a Plesk server with Ubuntu 18.04. As soon as Docker starts officially supporting Ubuntu 18.04, we will add the support to the Docker extension as well.
We are working to fix the issue where PostgreSQL cannot be configured on a Plesk server with Ubuntu 18.04.
Note: Plesk Installer deploys MariaDB by default.
Warning: In order to have MySQL as the database server, install MySQL prior to the Plesk Installer initializing.
This way was not tested and thus is not supported by Plesk - all actions are performed at your own risk.
