For anyone looking for installation instructions, I followed this on Plesk Onyx (Linux) V. 17.8.11 to get Redis up and running!

Hello @Chad,
Thank you for collaboration, this instruction may be useful for other Pleskins!
However, at 1st it is recommended to check the instruction on a test domain.
Thank-you Ivan, agreed! :)
Hi Guys,
I was just chatting with an expert in website speed optimisation. and it's seem that Redis is a must have.
To install it from the repo we can use the following command:
sudo apt install redis-server
better and easier than Chad Reitsma Link
Still, I'm writting this message in order to askin a next PLesk release to be able to install it from the Plesk admin panel and check its status.
After 5 min. installation, my admin panel from wordpress become way faster (heavy request from woocommerce and all the time the same, exemple display product tab (all the time the same product to display)
Wouaw!
Hi @Jerome Nameche,
I am glad to hear that It worked out really great for you!
I would recommend, atleats with CentOS 7 based installs, installing the Remi repo so you can utilize Redis5. CentOS7 base and epel repo only have 3.
Building it from the ground up such as @chad Reisma suggested is a terrible idea, as you have to rebuild each and every updates, missing out on both performance and security updates.
What do you mean you will have to rebuild it with each and every updates? If you're talking about Plesk updates - it has been updated dozens of times on our servers without the need to rebuild redis. I guess if you're talking an OS update, then maybe? I don't think you need to downvote my answer for that, just sharing how I did it.
Referencing Redis having updates itself, why would i refer to the OS or plesk updates?
