Question
Which PHP versions are supported by Plesk 17.8 for Linux?
Answer
PHP versions 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 with the latest subversions are supported.
Note: In case of a clean installation on new operating systems like Debian 9 or Ubuntu 18.04, it is not possible to install PHP 5.x and lower via Plesk Installer as these PHP versions are not compatible with newer OpenSSL version shipped with those operating systems.

Well it would be good to clearly state here, that it is also depending on the OS Version otherwise it is somehow missleading !
like the note in the Docu: https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/onyx/administrator-guide/web-hosting/php-management/installing-php.75153/
Note: On newer OSes (for example, Debian 9), older PHP versions (5.6 and earlier) may not be available for installation because they are not compatible with the modern OpenSSL versions those OSes ship with.

Hello, @Jürgen Fröhler.
That's a good point indeed.
I have updated the article making it clearer that on some OSes there is no way to install old PHP versions.
Thank you for the feedback!
