- Plesk for Linux
Ruby version 2.4.3 and NodeJS 8.9 are installed via Plesk installer(Plesk > Tools & Settings > Updates & Upgrades). Why the below commands show different versions from the ones installed in Plesk or show that the packages are not installed at all? For example:
# ruby -v
ruby 2.3.1p112 (2016-04-26) [x86_64-linux-gnu]
# node -v
-bash: node: command not found
ruby -v shows system Ruby/NodeJS version. Ruby/NodeJS versions installed via Plesk Installer are additional Ruby/NodeJS versions shipped by Plesk. This allows domains hosted in Plesk to use different Ruby/NodeJS versions.
To check Ruby or NodeJS version installed in Plesk use the following commands:
# /opt/plesk/ruby/XXX/bin/ruby -v
# /opt/plesk/node/XXX/bin/node -v
Where XXX is a corresponding version of Ruby or NodeJS.
