- Plesk for Linux
Ruby 2.4.3 and Node.js 8.9 are installed via Plesk Installer (Tools & Settings > Updates & Upgrades).
Why are the below commands show different versions from the ones installed by Plesk or show that the packages are not installed at all? For example:
# ruby -v
ruby 2.3.1p112 (2016-04-26) [x86_64-linux-gnu]
# node -v
-bash: node: command not found
ruby -v shows system Ruby/Node.js version, while versions of these components installed via Plesk Installer are additional Ruby/Node.js versions shipped by Plesk.
This allows domains hosted in Plesk to use different Ruby/Node.js versions.
To check Ruby or Node.js version installed in Plesk, connect to the server using SSH and use the following commands:
# /opt/plesk/ruby/XXX/bin/ruby -v
# /opt/plesk/node/XXX/bin/node -v
Where XXX is a corresponding version of Ruby or NodeJS.
