How to secure mail.example.com with Let's Encrypt certificate?
Does Let's Encrypt certificate for securing mail server also use
No, a Let's Encrypt certificate assigned to secure Plesk Mail server doesn't secure
mail.example.com, as it only secures hostname in Tools & Settings > Server Settings > Full hostname.
In order to secure
mail.example.com hostname, follow these steps:
- Make sure that
mail.example.comDNS record type A points to Plesk server IP:
# ping mail.example.com
- Change your Plesk server hostname to
mail.example.comwith instructions provided in following article: How to change or get a server hostname on Plesk server?
- Create a new Let's Encrypt certificate to secure Plesk GUI and Mail server connections with instructions provided in following article: How to secure mail server with Let's Encrypt certificate
In case Plesk hostname change is not an option, please feel free to request such functionality in our Official Plesk UserVoice channel.
