I migrated a Cpanel server to Obsedian and tried this trick to permit ssh but failed, I always get back error when I try to login ssh says Failed password for user and I couldn't login to many users's ssh but after I manually updated the users passwords even to the same old password on "web hosting access" menu for accounts, so I asked my users to manually update passwords for all accounts so they can login using ssh, is this a bug ?

    Hello Fouad Ahmed Fouad

In cPanel and Plesk stored passwords are encrypted.

However, Plesk is using different encryption methods and that is why passwords reset to random while accounts transferring.

That's expected that it was required to reset passwords.

Please mention these restriction and limitations on Plesk docs as i checked it before I migrate a server from Cpanel and I had many issues not mentioned there!

I had many other issues not shows on Plesk migration guide and some of them I still search for a fix and I found it was a bad idea to migrate a server which was Cpanel to Plesk because of those limitations!

The issue is the shared server has about 80 accounts, how to manually reset passwords for all those accounts? and phpmyadmin auto login is not working also for databases migrated by Plesk, so how to reset about 200 databases for users? can you advise?

Please do a fast reply for us on these Plesk support sites because I depend on it as a way of support, and waiting for 2 weeks till you reply is too much if I need an a advice for a production server. this is obvious I can't use this site as a way of support, who can wait for 2 weeks to solve a production problem?

Hello Fouad Ahmed Fouad articles on suppotr.plesk.com are published for self-service, this is not a support channel. If you need help with migration issue you should create a ticket or e.g. post a question on our forum: https://talk.plesk.com/

    Hi Anton,

It's hard for me to open a ticket because I got a Plesk license from a Plesk reseller and not directly from Plesk.

So I depend on searching and so on, had 2 issues and I am sure they will affect many others out there with plesk migration from Cpanel and I followed your advice and opened posts on https://talk.plesk.com/ and for almost weeks no help I got, silence is the only answer for my questions! can you check my posts there and recommend any help.

    Hi Fouad.

Since you have license from reseller it is required to contact him for a support. In case they won't be able to solve an issue they create a ticket to us on your behalf. If you want to reach our support directly you may purchase support subscription, it is free for the first month btw:
