I have exactly the problem you mentioned:

Jan 30 14:22:51 hosting postfix-local[23873]: Unable to forward original message. sendmail status: 70
Jan 30 14:22:51 hosting postfix-local[23873]: Unable to send mail for: XXX
Jan 30 14:22:51 hosting postfix/pipe[23870]: 0979480FFB: to=<XXX>, relay=plesk_virtual, delay=2499, delays=2495/0/0/3.5, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred (temporary failure. Command output: postalias: fatal: open database /var/spool/postfix/plesk/aliases.db: Permission denied plesk sendmail[23980]: Failed to change gid (1): Operation not permitted plesk sendmail[23981]: my_popen(): execve(/usr/lib/plesk-9.0/sendmail/sendmail.postfix) failed: Permission denied [13] plesk sendmail[23981]: Unable to execute MTA plesk sendmail[23980]: sendmail unsuccessfully finished with exitcode 70 4.2.1 Message can not be delivered at this time )

Is there any change to get a guideline for Ubuntu users? I was able to install the policycoreutils-python package, but in my Plesk Onyx environment on Ubuntu 18, I cannot find /var/log/audit/audit.log.

This article was written for Redhat/CentOS where Selinux blocks sendmail.
Ubuntu doesn't have Selinux for this reason this article can not be applied in your case.

I recommend you to check the following:

    1. Set corect permissions for /usr/lib/plesk-9.0/postfix-sendmail-wrapper

    chmod 4555 /usr/lib/plesk-9.0/postfix-sendmail-wrapper

    2. Execute below commaind:

    plesk repair mail -y

If it doesn't help please contact Plesk support according to the article
