Domain is missing in Plesk but exists on a server and resolves on a server IP

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

  1. Domain is missing in Plesk and in psa database, but exists in /var/www/vhost and /var/www/vhosts/system .

  2. Domain resolves on the server IP globally and is working correctly.

  3. psa dumps in /var/lib/psa/dumps directory contain domain's info

  4. Plesk config file exists: /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/example.com.conf .

  5. There is an entry in Tools and Settings > Action Log that domain was deleted by Plesk admin:

    203.0.113.2 admin [2016-11-11 15:21:32] 'Delete Domain' ('Client GUID': 'a17c2150-5b85-4385-9adb-d5b1ddaa0d87' => '', 'Domain GUID': 'f71d5c17-bbae-4176-b695-0f20e36b64bc' => '', 'Domain Name': 'example.com' => '', 'Login Name': 'user' => '')

Cause

Domain was manually deleted by someone who logged onto the server under an admin account from 203.0.113.2 IP.

Resolution

It is recommended to restrict administrative access to Plesk in Tools & Settings > Restrict Administrative Access by specifying IP addresses that are allowed to use admin account or specify banned IP addresses.

Check more about restricting administrative access in Plesk Administrator's guide .
