Plesk Premium Antivirus is not working

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

  1. Plesk Premium Antivirus does not detect infected mails.
  2. Additional license has unlimited mailboxes
  3. Mail handlers are enabled, e.g. for user@example.com :

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/mail_handlers_control --list | grep plesk
    | X | | 20 | user@example.com | drweb | sender | before-remote |
    | X | | 20 | user@example.com | drweb | recipient | before-queue |
    | X | | 10 | user@example.com | spam | recipient | before-local |
  4. Service drwebd is up and running:

    # service drwebd status
    Dr.Web drwebd is running

Cause

Mail filters are disabled/misconfigured in /etc/postfix/main.cf postfix configuration file.

Resolution

Disabling before-queue mail filters will disable features like Kaspersky, DrWeb checks, DomainKeys, Greylisting, SPF, quota-check, Kaspersky Antivirus, Autoresponder, SpamAssasin and others.

  1. Check that smtpd_milters is not commented in /etc/postfix/main.cf postfix configuration file and set up properly. As default it has the following values:

    # cat /etc/postfix/main.cf | grep smtpd_milters
    smtpd_milters = , inet:127.0.0.1:12768
  2. Configure it properly and restart postfix , pc-remote , drwebd services:

    # service postfix restart
    # service pc-remote restart
    #service drwebd restart
