Image description is shown even if it is set to "Do not show"

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

  • Image description is shown on mouse hovering even if it is set to Do not show in Presence Builder editor and a website:

    alttext

    alttext

Cause

Displayed text is a title of the image, not a decription .

Resolution

An image in Presence Builder has an additional attribute title . It is set equal to image's description after the creation of the image.

To edit/remove a title use the following instruction:

  1. In Presence Builder editor open image's settings menu.

  2. Press the button Edit HTML Source

  3. Edit/remove the record in qoutes after title= and leave only tag alt=

    alttext

As workaround you can apply patch which performs the following:

  • title is available in list of attributes of img tag
  • newly added picture has no description

To apply it:

  • Make a copy of the following files:

    # cp /usr/local/sb/htdocs/js/minimized/Editor.js{,_backup_$(date +%y-%m-%d)}
    # cp /usr/local/sb/htdocs/js/Sb/auxilaryModel/Image.js{,_backup_$(date +%y-%m-%d)}
  • Go to Web Presence Builder directory:

    # cd /usr/local/sb/
  • Download and unzip the patch

    # wget https://support.plesk.com/hc/article_attachments/115004356845/ppb-12.0.8-patch-4493.zip
    # unzip ppb-12.0.8-patch-4493.zip
