Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

  • Plesk is inaccessible:

    500 internal server error
  • There are no error messages in the Event Viewer or in Plesk %plesk_dir%admin\\logs\\php_error.log log file.

Cause

An excessive invalid PHP handler is configured for the website pleskcontrolpanel in IIS.

The default directory for PHP handler should be %plesk_bin% .

Resolution

  1. Go to IIS > Sites > pleskcontrolpanel > Sites > Handler Mappings

  2. Check Executable option of every FastCGIModule handler and remove an invalid handler which has a physical path for php-cgi.exe different from default ( %plesk_bin% )

  3. Restart the website PleskControlPanel in IIS

OR

Recreate Plesk website in IIS as follows:

  1. Remove pleskcontrolpanel site from IIS > Sites
  2. Run Plesk Reconfigurator tool with Administrator rights
  3. Go Repair Plesk installation > Plesk Services > Check
