Plesk shows 502 Bad Gateway error after login: sw-engine-fpm general protection ip:7f31fa131611 sp:7fff8df6d9d0 error:0 in librdbmspp.so.2.0

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

  • After login to Plesk, 502 Bad Gateway error occurs.

  • The following error can be found in /var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log :

    2016/10/14 13:33:15 [error] 1225#0: *5 recv() failed (104: Connection reset by peer) while reading response header from upstream, client: 203.0.113.2, server: , request: "GET /login_up.php3?login_name=admin&passwd=password%24x4&locale_id=en-US HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/sw-engine.sock:", host: "203.0.113.2:8443"
  • The following error persists in /var/log/messages :

    Oct 14 13:52:59 pro1949 kernel: [ 2583.855074] sw-engine-fpm[4940] general protection ip:7f31fa131611 sp:7fff8df6d9d0 error:0 in librdbmspp.so.2.0[7f31fa0cb000+8f000]
  • librdbmspp library persist in /usr/lib folder

    # ls -l /usr/lib/librdbmspp*
    /usr/lib/librdbmspp.so.2
    /usr/lib/librdbmspp.so.2.0

Cause

librdbmspp deprecated library was not removed during the Plesk upgrade.

Resolution

Remove the librdbmspp library using the following command:

    # dpkg -r librdbmspp

And restart sw-engine service:

    # service sw-engine restart
