Domain does not work over https: it displayes wrong content

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Domain does not work over https : it displays wrong content (not the same as over http ).

In domain's configuration file at /var/www/vhosts/system/example.com/conf/httpd.conf there is SSL DocumentRoot set to httpsdocs :

DocumentRoot /var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpsdocs

There is httpsdocs directory in /var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpsdocs , and it contains different content than httpdocs

Cause

Domain opened over https displays the content that is stored in /var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpsdocs directory.

Resolution

Use either of the following solutions:

  1. Move contents from httpdocs to httpsdocs so that the same content is displayed over http and https

or

  1. Adjust server configuration templates so that https connections DocumentRoot is stored in httpdocs directory, not in httpsdocs . Use Plesk Administrator Guide to set it up.
