How to upgrade Curl to the latest version?

Answer

  1. Upgrade to the latest version of curl by running:

    #  yum update curl.x86_64
  2. If a newer version has not been found, create a new repository:

    # touch /etc/yum.repos.d/city-fan.repo
  3. Input the following records in this repo file:

    # cat /etc/yum.repos.d/city-fan.repo

    [CityFan]
    name=City Fan Repo
    baseurl=http://www.city-fan.org/ftp/contrib/yum-repo/rhel$releasever/$basearch/
    enabled=1
    gpgcheck=0
  4. Enable EPEL repository:

    # yum install epel-release -y
  5. Rerun the updater:

    # yum update curl.x86_64
