Apache configuration is corrupted: DocumentRoot atmail does not exist

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

The following error is shown on Plesk homepage:

Error: New configuration files for the Apache web server were not created due to the errors in configuration templates: DocumentRoot [/var/www/atmail] does not exist

Unable to manage any settings in Plesk and open any domain.

The following warnings appear in /var/log/plesk/panel.log file:

stderr: Warning: DocumentRoot [/var/www/atmail] does not exist
Warning: DocumentRoot [/var/www/atmail] does not exist

Cause

AtMail webmail was removed from the server but some configuration files were still left

Resolution

  1. Remove AtMail configuration files from the filesystem:

    # mv /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/atmail.conf /root/httd.conf.plesk.conf.d.atmail.conf
    # mv /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/webmails/atmail /root/httd.conf.plesk.conf.d.webmails.atmail
    # mv /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/webmails/atmailcom /root/httd.conf.plesk.conf.d.webmails.atmailcom
    # mv /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/generated/last_atmail.include /root/psa.admin.conf.generated.last_atmail.include
    # mv /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/default/atmail.php /root/templates.default.atmail.php
  2. Remove the record regarding AtMail webmail from psa database:

    mysql> delete from  Webmail where name="AtMail";
  3. Reconfigure broken configuration files using the link in error on Plesk's home page.
