- Plesk for Linux
How to remove the main license or an additional license from Plesk server via CLI?
Currently, the utility available to manage Plesk licenses
plesk bin license doesn't allow to remove main license or additional licenses, this feature is planned to be included in future Plesk updates.
As a workaround, the following steps are available:
Warning: When an additional license is removed, it will be automatically reinstalled again by Plesk daily task. It is also required to dissociate the additional license from the parent key in the license management system.
Connect to the server via SSH
Find the file which contains this license key:
Note: Main license starts with
PLSKand additional license keys start with
# egrep -Rl "EXT.01234567" /etc/sw/keys/keys/key*
/etc/sw/keys/keys/key*files that were found in the previous step:
# rm -rf /etc/sw/keys/keys/keyXXJxNaIT
Restart sw-engine service:
# service sw-engine restart
Note: To keep the server active for several days, just re-activate Plesk with a trial license. When the main Plesk license is expired, the websites will keep running, however, it will not be possible to access Plesk GUI.
