Website shows default Plesk page

Symptoms

Website shows default Plesk page.

Cause

  • Default Plesk index.html is present in the document root directory of a website
  • Site was suspended
  • Website domain name is resolved into incorrect IP address
  • Webserver is misconfigured
  • welcome.conf file is present in /etc/httpd/conf.d

Resolution

  1. If default Plesk index.html is present in the document root directory of the website, then delete/remove it.

  2. Check that a domain is resolved to correct IP address using nslookup or dig utility. For example, check DNS resolution by Google Public DNS by the following command:

    # nslookup example.com 8.8.8.8
    Server: 8.8.8.8
    Address: 8.8.8.8#53

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: example.com
    Addresses: 203.0.113.2
  3. Make sure that a domain is not suspended under Home > Subscriptions > example.com > Websites & Domains

  4. Reconfigure the domain:

    For Linux:

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-domain example.com

    For Windows:

    "%plesk_cli%\\repair.exe" --reconfigure-web-site -web-site-name example.com
  5. For Linux: Ensure that Apache config does not have welcome.conf file in /etc/httpd/conf.d
