Migration warning: Wrong syntax for command's '-locale' parameter

Applicable to:

Symptoms

Migration finished with the following warning:

Warning: client "ClientName"
Execution of /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/api-cli/client_pref.php --update ClientName -locale es-ES -ignore-nonexistent-options failed with return code 1.
Stderr is
Wrong syntax for command's '-locale' parameter. Unable to change locale: the specified interface language pack is unavailable.

OR:

Error:  reseller "ResellerName"
Execution of /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/api-cli/reseller_pref.php --update ResellerName -locale el-GR -ignore-nonexistent-options failed with return code 1.
Stderr is
Error(s) in command line options: Wrong syntax for command's '-locale' parameter. 'el-GR' does not match the pattern '/^(en-US|ru-RU|zh-CN)$/'.

Cause

Required languages (locales) are disabled on the destination server.

Resolution

  1. Obtain a list of locales enabled on the source server:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/server_pref --locales-list
    Locales available:
    ru-RU: RUSSIAN (Russian Federation)
    el-GR: GREEK (Greece)
    en-US: ENGLISH (United States)
    es-ES: SPANISH (Spain)
    zh-CN: CHINESE (China)
  2. Go to Home > Tools & Settings > License Management > Language packs/Available languages and ensure that the required languages are available, and sufficient amount of language packs shipped with the license key is installed on the destination server . Otherwise, purchase additional language packs for Plesk license.

  3. Ensure that required locales are enabled on the destination server:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/server_pref --locales-list
    Locales available:
    ru-RU: RUSSIAN (Russian Federation)
    en-US: ENGLISH (United States)
    zh-CN: CHINESE (China)
  4. Enable the required locales via Home > Tools & Settings > Languages
