- Plesk 12.5 for Linux
- Email messages have disappeared (are not available, not listed in inbox, messages are missing) for all mailboxes if default locations of mailboxes was customized according to this article.
The directory for mail is customized:
# find / -type d -name 'mailnames'
The following email may be sent to mailbox owners:
CONFIG_TEXT: Server Error: STATUS: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. [2018-04-24 10:42:30] (0.001 + 0.000 secs).
- The following error may appear in
CONFIG_TEXT: dovecot: Error: service=imap, Mailbox INBOX: Failed to autocreate mailbox: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information.
dovecot: service=imap, Error: mkdir(/var/qmail/mailnames/example.com/user/Maildir) failed: Permission denied (euid=30(popuser) egid=31(popuser) missing +w perm: /var/qmail/mailnames, dir owned by 0:0 mode=0755)
Dovecot configuration values have been reset to default ones after Plesk upgrade because such customization is not supported. The default location of mail in Plesk is /var/qmail/mailnames/. Now Plesk is looking into the default location, but all mail is still stored in the custom directory.
Change default Plesk mail configuration anew to the custom location according to this article:
