Access to Plesk is broken after configuring Plesk components

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 10.0.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 11.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 11.5 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows

Symptoms

Plesk home page shows the following warning after configuring Plesk components:

Warning: For Panel to work, you need to select the default components from list below. Make sure that the components you select are properly installed and configured. It is possible to change your selection afterwards.

Cause

Plesk components are not properly detected by Plesk. The following command can be used to check Plesk components:

"%plesk_dir%"\\admin\\bin>defpackagemng.exe  --get-type-list

Resolution

To fix the issue do the following run defpackagemng.exe utility:

    %plesk_dir%admin\\bin\\defpackagemng.exe --update --fix
