Apache restart interval doesn't work.

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Apache web server restarts after creating domain even if apache restart interval is set to value greater than 0 in Home > Tools&Settings > Apache Web Server

Cause

Value restart_apache_gracefully set in false state.

Resolution

  1. Make a database backup:

    # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysqldump -u admin psa > psa`date +%F_%H.%M`.sql
  2. Connect to MySQL server and check restart_apache_gracefully value:

    # plesk db
    mysql> use psa;
    mysql> SELECT * FROM misc WHERE param="restart_apache_gracefully";
    +---------------------------+-------+
    | param | val |
    +---------------------------+-------+
    | restart_apache_gracefully | false |
    +---------------------------+-------+
  3. Change value to true :

    mysql> UPDATE misc SET val='true' WHERE param ='restart_apache_gracefully';
  4. In earlier Plesk versions restart_apache_gracefully record might be absent. Add this record as below:

    mysql> INSERT INTO misc (param,val) values ('restart_apache_gracefully','true');
