Several email addresses that exist in Smartermail are not present in Plesk

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows

Symptoms

  • Mail accounts that are present in Smartermail admin panel cannot be managed in Plesk GUI
  • Not all mail accounts' records are present in psa database

Cause

Some of the mail accounts were added directly from Smartermail administrator panel.

Resolution

  1. Execute the following query to find all mail accounts that are registered in Plesk database for a particular domain:

    select m.mail_name, d.name from mail as m left join domains as d on m.dom_id=d.id where d.name='example.com';

  2. If the output shows that some of the accounts are missing, check if folders with the same names from the mail data location directory exist. Rename ones that are found.

  3. Manually recreate mail accouns which were found on previous step via Plesk GUI.

  4. Once the new accounts are created, transfer the old data to the corresponding folders.
