    This guide doesn't make sense.

    The select statement finds an entry in a database table. In the next step, you drop a database. But not such database exists, only an entry exists.

    I think there is an error in the guide.

    Hello,

    I believe you mistyped somewhere. MySQL cannot select records from a table in non-existent database. Moreover, to select something, it is needed to select a database from where select should be done.

    For example, to select something from 'table1' table inside 'database1' database, it is needed to choose that database first:

    mysql> use database1;
    mysql> select * from table1

    I also checked the guide and it looks correct.
