Migration fails on SELinux enabled server: Perhaps /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/deployer application missing, has incorrect permissions or unexpectedly terminated

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

  • Migration fails with the following error in Plesk:

Perhaps /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/deployer application missing, has incorrect permissions or unexpectedly terminated
  • SELinux in Enforcing mode

However, the deployer file is present in /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/ and has correct permissions:

# ls -la /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/deployer
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Oct 19 09:59 /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/deployer -> ../sbin/wrapper
# ls -la /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/wrapper
---s--x--- 1 root psaadm 19352 Jun 6 2014 /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/wrapper

But

 # ls -Z /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/deployer
-rwxr-x---. root root system_u:object_r:unconfined_exec_t:s0 /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/deployer

Cause

Plesk bug with ID #PPPM-3115 , which is expected to be fixed in future Plesk updates.

Resolution

As a workaround, change SELinux security context for the file:

# chcon -t bin_t /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/deployer
