Websites are down: Problem loading page

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk Onyx for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

Unable to access websites. The error is shown:

Problem loading page

Previously, nginx was enabled on a server and apache is configured to listen 7080 , 7081 ports.

 # httpd -S | grep 7080| wc -l

It is down and it is not possible to start it:

/etc/init.d/nginx status
nginx is stopped
# /etc/init.d/nginx start
Not starting nginx as it is disabled in config

This command shows that nginx is enabled:

# /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/nginxmng -s
Enabled

Cause

Websites are switched to nginx , but it is disabled.

Resolution

For CentOS, RedHat:

# cp -a /etc/sysconfig/nginx.rpmsave  /etc/sysconfig/nginx

For Debian, Ubuntu:

Edit /etc/default/nginx and set NGINX_ENABLED=yes

If steps above did not help, do the following:

  1. Disable nginx proxy using this command:

        # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/nginxmng -d
  2. Enable it back:

        # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/nginxmng -e
  3. Make sure that it is running:

        # /etc/init.d/nginx status
    nginx (pid 4135) is running...
