Plesk shows error: Invalid URL was requested

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

There is an error shown under Tools & Settings :

 Error: Invalid URL was requested.

The following errors can be found in /var/log/plesk/panel.log :

[2016-03-04 01:35:44] ERR [panel] Requested URL: /smb/smb
[2016-03-04 01:35:44] ERR [panel] Invalid URL was requested.

Cause

The issue is caused by software issue with internal id #PPPM-4187 . It is fixed in Plesk Onyx.

Resolution

Upgrade to the latest Plesk version .

If upgrade is not possible, find the following entry in /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/customizations.conf :

"customSpots":{"web":{"enabled":true,"params":{"url":""}}}

In order to workaround the issue there are two possibilities to perform it:

  1. Specify your RSS feed url as below:

    "customSpots":{"web":{"enabled":false,"params":{"url":"http://kb.plesk.com/rss/index.html"}}}

    Replace http://kb.plesk.com/rss/index.html with RSS feed you want to use.

  2. Also, you can disable RSS feed url . It should look like:

    "customSpots":{"web":{"enabled":false,"params":{"url":""}}}
