How to install SSL certificate on webmail in Plesk Onyx?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk Onyx for Linux
  • Plesk Onyx for Windows

Question

  • It is required to secure the webmail interface of one of the domains. Is it possible to implement the certificate for just one of the configured domains, without changing the default certificate?

  • A wildcard SSL certificate or SSL certificate issued for a particular server is not working on webmail.example.com .

Answer

Use Let's Encrypt extension to secure webmail. Please check this article How to secure webmail using Let's Encrypt in Plesk Onyx

If you have your own SSL certificate, please install it certificate in Domains > example.com > SSL/TLS certificates - Add and:

  1. Navigate to  Domains > example.com > Email Addresses > Mail Settings tab
  2. Choose the required certificate from SSL/TLS certificate for webmail drop-down menu.

Or

  1. Navigate to  Domains > example.com > SSL/TLS certificates .
  2. Select the required certificate.
  3. Press Secure Webmail

Note: It is not possible to add SSL certificates to webmail for domains which have no Hosting enabled.
