Unable to install WordPress in Plesk: Failed to search for WordPress instances on subscription

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

Unable to install WordPress in Plesk. Error message in Plesk is empty. With enabled debug log the following can be found in /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/panel.log:

Manual exection of wpmng returns an empty result.

Cause

" plesk-wp-cli " package is corrupted.

Resolution

  1. Check if " plesk-wp-cli " package is installed in the system:

    rpm -based OSes:

    # rpm -qa | grep wp-cli
    plesk-wp-cli-0.23.0.1-centos6.16032316.noarch

    deb -based OSes:

    # dpkg -l | grep wp-cli
    ii plesk-wp-cli 0.23.0.1-ubuntu14.04.16032316 all Set of command-line tools for managing WordPress installations for Plesk

    If the package is not installed, skip the 2nd step.

  2. Remove the package:

    rpm -based OSes(CentOS, RHEL, CloudLinux):

    # rpm -e --nodeps plesk-wp-cli

    deb -based OSes(Debian, Ubuntu):

    # dpkg -r --force-depends plesk-wp-cli
  3. Install all the latest microupdates from Home - Tools & Settings - Updates & Upgrades or through command line:

    # plesk installer

    " plesk-wp-cli " package is supposed to be reinstalled automatically.
