[HOW TO] Identify the backup on the ftp repository without prefix?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Question

I am backing up multiple Plesk servers to one FTP repository. How to distinguish what backup belongs to the server?

Answer

As prefixes for backups were removed since Plesk version 12.5, several folders can be created on the FTP server for every instance of Plesk.

The folder where Plesk will be backed up can be configured under Plesk > Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > FTP storage settings > Directory for backup files storage .This is more accurate way to storing all the backups you have.

Already created backups can be identified by reviewing objects to restore under Plesk > Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Name of backup > Objects available to restore
