Older Plesk Versions: Upgrading phpMyAdmin to version 3.4.10.2 on Plesk Linux 10.1.x

Symptoms

The Plesk Service Team has prepared a script for upgrading phpMyAdmin to the 3.4.10.2 version with all security updates. This script can be used on servers where a Plesk for Linux 10.1.x version is installed.

Note: If you perform a Plesk upgrade to a version below 11.0.9, the old phpMyAdmin version will be installed again. Therefore, we recommend upgrading to the latest available Plesk version or performing the phpMyAdmin upgrade again as it is described below.

Cause

MySQL 5.0.15 or above is required for phpMyAdmin 3.4.10.2.

Resolution

  1. Create a backup of the current phpMyAdmin version:

    # DUMP_D=`cat /etc/psa/psa.conf | grep DUMP_D| head -1 | awk {'print $2'}`
    # mkdir $DUMP_D/Old_phpMyAdmin
    # PRODUCT_ROOT_D=`cat /etc/psa/psa.conf | grep PRODUCT_ROOT_D | head -1 | awk {'print $2'}`
    # cp -r $PRODUCT_ROOT_D/admin/htdocs/domains/databases/phpMyAdmin $DUMP_D/Old_phpMyAdmin/
    # PHPMYADMINDB=` MYSQL_PWD=$(cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow) -e 'show databases like "phpmyadmin%"' | tail -1`
    # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysqldump -uadmin $PHPMYADMINDB > $DUMP_D/Old_phpMyAdmin/phpmyadmin_db.dump
  2. Download the archive with the new version of phpMyAdmin:

  3. phpmyadmin_3_4_10.tar.gz - md5sum e8f440d6a59d697b4a8bc66c2bd15c0c`

  4. pma10_install.sh - md5sum 9a51e8da4a59252a73cae0b879ea408c`

        # cd /usr/local/psa/var/
    # wget http://kb.plesk.com/Attachments/kcs-15280/phpmyadmin_3_4_10.tar.gz
    # wget http://kb.plesk.com/Attachments/kcs-15280/pma10_install.sh
  5. Run the installation script for the phpMyAdmin 3.4.10.2 installation:

    # chmod u+x pma10_install.sh
    # ./pma10_install.sh

    **** Package scriptlet completed successfully.
