Symptoms

The 500 Internal Server Error upon log in to the Plesk admin panel interface.

The /var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log has the following error:

(mod_fastcgi.c.2476) unexpected end-of-file (perhaps the fastcgi process died): pid: 30885 socket: unix:/usr/local/psa/tmp/sw-engine.sock-0

Cause

Corrupted sw-engine package.

Resolution

  1. Check sw-engine` for consistency with:

    rpm -V sw-engine
  2. If you see the files missing/modified, update sw-engine package:

  3. Download the corresponding version of sw-engine from autoinstall.plesk.com

    Example for CentOS 6 x86_64, Plesk 11.0.90version:

    wget http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PSA_11.0.9/dist-rpm-CentOS-6-x86_64/contrib/sw-engine-2.5.1-201206041746.centos6.x86_64.rpm
  4. Re-install the package as follows:

    rpm -Uvh sw-engine-2.5.1-201206041746.centos6.x86_64.rpm --force
  5. Restart sw-sp-server service:

    /etc/init.d/sw-cp-server restart
