How to restore an exported domain backup on another server

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Question

Backup of domain example.com was exported via Subscriptions > example.com > Websites & Domains > Backup Manager > Download the backup file to your local computer .

How to restore the backup on another Plesk server?

Answer

  1. Transfer the exported backup to destination Plesk server.

  2. Restore the backup:

On Linux:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/pleskrestore --restore /tmp/fullbackup_example.com.gz -level domains -ignore-sign
  • /root/backup_example.com.gz - path to domain backup
  • -ignore-sign - is used to ignore server-specific, randomly generated key # 213388909 .

More restoration options can be also found:

# /usr/local/psa/bin/pleskrestore --help

On Windows:

`"%plesk_cli%\\pleskrestore.exe" --restore "c:\\backup_example.com.zip" -ignore-sign -level domains -verbose`
