Symptoms

MySQL is not working after upgrading Plesk Panel to version 11.5

Cause

MySQL service was missing under services.msc , however Plesk Mysql Service was up and working fine.

Resolution

  1. Install the MySQL service with below given command:

    C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\MySQL\\bin>mysqld.exe --install
  2. Correct the executable path of mysql service as below in Windows registry - ImagePath key at:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\services\\MySQL

    "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Databases\\MySQL51\\bin\\mysqld.exe" "--defaults-file=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Databases\\MySQL\\Data\\my.ini" MySQL
  3. Now start the MySQL services on the server and make sure that the path for the MySQL executable is correct in my.ini

    basedir=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Databases\\MySQL51\\
    datadir=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Databases\\MySQL\\Data
