Missing log rotation configuration file

Symptoms

Hosting plan has log rotation set up and enabled and the same is true about subscription created on this plan - log rotation is enabled on Websites & Domains > Logs > Log Rotation . However, domain's configuration file is missing from directory /usr/local/psa/etc/logrotate.d and domain logs are not rotated.

Cause

This issue is caused by error in product. Parallels Plesk Panel 11.0.9 is affected by the problem.

Workaround

Enable log rotation for new domains automatically with the help of event handlers :

  1. Create file /root/enable_logrotation.sh with following content:

    #!/bin/bash
    sleep 10
    /usr/local/psa/bin/domain -u $1 -log-rotate true
  2. Set executable permission on the file:

    chmod +x /root/enable_logrotation.sh
  3. Create event handler for event "Default domain (the first domain added to a subscription/webspace) created" .

  4. In Command field insert:

    /root/enable_logrotation.sh <new_domain_name>
