Apache modules are loaded twice: [warn] module is already loaded

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

On new Plesk 12 installation on CentOS 7 apache modules initialization is defined twice in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and in /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf :

# grep actions_module -rI /etc/httpd/*
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:LoadModule actions_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_actions.so
/etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf:LoadModule actions_module modules/mod_actions.so

Syntax check for config files returns warnings:

# httpd -t
[Mon Aug 10 16:27:51.357338 2015] [so:warn] [pid 27596] AH01574: module actions_module is already loaded, skipping
[Mon Aug 10 16:27:51.361033 2015] [so:warn] [pid 27596] AH01574: module headers_module is already loaded, skipping
[Mon Aug 10 16:27:51.361471 2015] [so:warn] [pid 27596] AH01574: module logio_module is already loaded, skipping
[Mon Aug 10 16:27:51.363329 2015] [so:warn] [pid 27596] AH01574: module suexec_module is already loaded, skipping
Syntax OK

Cause

Caused by internal issue with id PPPM-3165 ; the fix is considered to be included in one of the next Plesk updates.

Workaround

Comment the following lines in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file:

# LoadModule actions_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_actions.so
# LoadModule suexec_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_suexec.so
# LoadModule logio_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_logio.so
# LoadModule headers_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_headers.so

Reload Apache:

# service httpd reload
