- Plesk 12.5 for Linux
- Plesk 11.x for Linux
- Plesk 12.0 for Linux
When adding Firewall rules through Plesk it is not updating the IP tables rules and getting the following error:
PLESK_WARN: Warning: The current configuration has not been activated. The system has been reverted to the previous configuration. This has occurred because there were connection problems between your browser and the server. Most probably, the reason is that you have arranged the configuration so that connections from your computer to the server are prohibited.
The new firewall ruleset is either blocking port 8443 access from the currently used browser, or cannot activate new rules due to missing firewall modules.
Check the settings for "Plesk administrative interface" rule. This rule controls the access to the Plesk administrative interface (port 8443) on the server. This service allows specific incoming connections and denies all others.
This rule must allow the access at least for the currently used computer for logging in to Plesk.
If local network connection is used add a private IP address of the current workstation to the rule "Plesk administrative interface" at Plesk > Tools & Settings > Firewall > Edit firewall configuration > Plesk administrative interface
If the currently used network is behind NAT, add public IP address to the rule.
If Plesk is installed inside a Parallels Virtuozzo Container, ensure that all the required firewall modules are active for the container. Check the following article for details: How do I enable firewall in a Container?
