Plesk login 500 Internal server error: The system can not find the file specified

Symptoms

  1. Plesk login page shows a "500 Internal server error".

    or

  2. During attempt to reconfigure Plesk website according to the article, the following error appears:

    The system can not find the file specified. (Error code 2) at unable to conect to pipe \\\\.\\Pipe\\P_1dca059b-b536-4793-a237-4d8cbb813912
  3. The following error appears in Windows Event viewer:

    Unable to change the user (Plesk Administrator) password: (2221) Could not find the username.
    at serviceMainFunc(plesksrv::serviceMain line 280)

Cause

User psaadm was deleted from Windows users. Plesk does not work because it uses psaadm as identity for IIS Plesk application pool.

Resolution

  1. Launch Plesk Reconfigurator:
    "%plesk_bin%"\\reconfigurator.exe

Please refer KB #213903325 regarding %plesk_bin% value.

  1. Click Repair Plesk installation and select:

    • Plesk Server Accounts
    • Plesk file security
    • Plesk Services
  2. Click Check button to fix accounts and permissions.
