Access to webstatistics page failed: Internal Server Error

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

  1. Error Internal Server Error occurs while accessing statistics page https://example.com/plesk-stat/webstat/ . The following error in Apache error log on domain level /var/www/vhosts/system/example.com/logs/error_log :

    [Thu Aug 04 10:45:19.912654 2016] [authn_file:error] [pid 24999:tid 140541891127040] (13)Permission denied: [client 10.20.30.40:47835] AH01620: Could not open password file: /var/www/vhosts/system/example.com/pd/d..httpdocs@plesk-stat
  2. Option Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password is enabled in Home > Subscriptions > example.com > Hosting Settings page

Cause

File /var/www/vhosts/system/example.com/pd/d..httpdocs@plesk-stat which contains information about access to protected plesk-stat directory is missing.

Resolution

Recreate missing file by disabling/enabling Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password option as follows:

  1. Go to Home > Subscriptions > example.com > Hosting Settings
  2. Uncheck Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password option and save settings.
  3. Check Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password option and save settings.
