How to change or get a server hostname on Plesk server?

Answer

The hostname on the Plesk server can be changed:

  1. Through GUI

    1.1. Go to Tools & Settings > Server Settings for Plesk 10 and later. Or Settings > Server settings for Plesk 9 and Server > Server Preferences for Plesk 8.

    1.2. Fill in the Full hostname field.

    1.3. Click OK .

  2. Using CLI for Plesk 12.0 and later:

    # plesk bin server_pref --update -hostname host.example.com

In order to get server hostname use the following command:

[root@server ~]# hostname
server.example.com
