ai.exe fails: "Empty reply from server"

Symptoms

While launching ai.exe or Plesk autoinstaller to upgrade Plesk or install package, it failed with the error:

    Failed to download the package http://autoinstall-win.pp.parallels.com/PANEL-WIN_11.5.30/examine_launcher.exe: Empty reply from server
File downloading ai.exe: Error: Empty reply from server, retry...

Cause

This error means that a connection with a server was closed due to some reason. This could be due Firewall, Network policy Or proxy settings.

Resolution

Make sure that you can download file with the Curl utility from the server. Example:

    curl -O http://autoinstall-win.pp.parallels.com/Autoinstaller_3.15.14/ai.exe.md5sum
