Horde Filters - Failed to establish TLS connection

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

In Plesk 12.5, while changing the settings in Horde having a Dovecot in a backend (Filters, blacklists, whitelists, etc.), it fails. Following logs are recorded,

In Webmail GUI:

Script not updated: There was an error activating the script. The driver said: Failed to establish TLS connection

In maillog:

Mar  3 04:04:00 PP125 dovecot: managesieve-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts in 0 secs): user=<>, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, TLS handshaking: SSL_accept() failed: error:14094418:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:tlsv1 alert unknown ca: SSL alert number 48, session=<fS90ehgtnAB/AAAB>

Cause

Self-Signed SSL certificate is used along PHP 5.6 to run Horde webmail.

Workaround

Disable TLS for sieve in Horde:

  1. Edit /usr/share/psa-horde/ingo/config/backends.php .
  2. Find $backends['sieve'] = array( section
  3. Set 'usetls' => false, in sieve section
